Ingredients (Serves 1–2)

  • 4 slices of back bacon

  • 2 slices of white or brown bread, or a soft bread roll

    • Heat a frying pan over medium heat.

    • Fry bacon slices until golden and crispy, turning once. Drain on paper towels.

  2. Prepare the bread:

    • Lightly butter the slices of bread or cut and lightly toast a roll.

  3. Assemble the butty:

    • Place cooked bacon on the bread or roll.

    • Add optional condiments such as ketchup or brown sauce.

    • Top with the second slice of bread or close the roll.

  4. Serve:

    • Serve immediately while the bacon is hot and crispy.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with tea or coffee for a classic British breakfast.

  • Pairs well with fried eggs for an upgraded morning meal.

Cooking Tips

  • Use thick-cut back bacon for a hearty sandwich.

  • Fry to your preferred level of crispiness but avoid burning.

  • Toasting the bread lightly helps prevent sogginess from sauces.
