Leberkäse with Potatoes (Traditional German Comfort Dish)

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)
500 g Leberkäse (whole loaf or thick slices)
800 g potatoes
Salt, to taste
Optional Additions:
1 tbsp butter
Fresh parsley, chopped
German mustard (sweet or medium-hot)
Gravy or pan juices
Preparation
Prepare the potatoes:
Peel and boil potatoes in salted water for 20–25 minutes until tender.
Drain and keep warm.
Optionally, mash with butter or serve whole with parsley.
Cook the Leberkäse:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake Leberkäse loaf for 45–60 minutes until golden on top, or pan-fry slices for 3–4 minutes per side.
Serve:
Slice Leberkäse thickly and serve with potatoes.
Add mustard or gravy as desired.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with sauerkraut or cucumber salad for balance.
Enjoy as a lunch, dinner, or traditional Bavarian meal.
