Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 4 slices of fresh rustic bread (Italian ciabatta, sourdough, or country loaf)

  • 4–6 tablespoons of fruit jam or marmalade (apricot, strawberry, raspberry, or seasonal choice)

  • Optional: butter, for spreading


Preparation


  1. Prepare the bread:

    • If desired, lightly toast the slices for extra texture.

  2. Spread (optional):

    • For a richer flavor, spread a thin layer of butter on the warm toast.

  3. Add jam:

    • Generously spread your chosen jam or marmalade over the bread.

  4. Serve:

    • Serve immediately with coffee, tea, or a glass of milk for a classic Italian breakfast.
