Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 100 g rolled oats

  • 400 ml milk or water (or a mix of both)

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional toppings: honey, brown sugar, fresh or dried fruits, nuts, cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Heat the liquid:

    • In a saucepan, bring milk or water to a gentle simmer.

  2. Cook the oats:

    • Add oats and a pinch of salt.

    • Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, for 5–10 minutes until creamy and thickened.

  3. Adjust consistency:

    • Add more milk or water if needed for a smoother texture.

  4. Serve:

    • Pour into bowls and add desired toppings such as honey, fresh fruit, or nuts.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with fresh berries, banana slices, or a drizzle of maple syrup.

  • Pair with tea, coffee, or fresh fruit juice.

Cooking Tips

  • Stir frequently to prevent sticking and ensure creaminess.

  • Use rolled oats for a traditional texture; steel-cut oats require longer cooking.

  • Sweeten lightly during cooking or top at the end for customizable flavor.
